The Funkstamatics- The Reverend

SUPERFLY favourites The Funkstamatics release new single "The Reverend" on digital only format on December 7.

The Dutch geniuses bring out their follow up to "Happy Acorn" on Funkstamatic Records and Will Work 4 Funk.
And it's exactly what you'd expect from this band...non stop nasty Hammond grooves!
Some might remember the Funkstamatics from their previous incarnation...Euro Cinema.
And the quartet turn the clock back over a decade to produce a quality track.
No overdubs, no effects, it's just four guys jamming in the studio and having fun.
"The Reverend" - named after keyboard player Rob Schepens long standing nickname - has that live-in-the-studio feel.
One listen to the track - and it's Blue Note/Prestige influences - perfectly captures the loose yet tight feel of a Funkstamatics live show.
"The Reverend" is a front runner for their new album due for release in the new year...a musical journey from New York in the 60's to Minneapolis in the 80's and back!
Superfly says Hallelujah to that!
