30-Dec-2019 | Mighty Mocambos Event

Mighty Mocambos coming to Belfast!

HERE at Superfly, we, like plenty others I'm sure, may have over indulged slightly  at Christmas!

So, we're giving you the perfect opportunity to hit the dancefloor and shed a few of those extra pounds.
As part of the 15th year of the Out to Lunch Festival, Superfly is delighted to bring funk sensations The Mighty Mocambos to the city for the first event of the new year.
What better way to warm up those cold January nights than with these funk sensations?
Their appearance is part of this ever popular festival which offers around 60 events in and around Belfast's historic Cathedral Quarter.
Out to Lunch starts on Friday and concludes on January 26th, with the Mighty Mocambos hitting the Oh Yeah Centre on Saturday, January 25th.
Our very own Pete Brady and Stephen Mills will also be on hand to man the decks with a selection of quality tunes.
German outfit The Mighty Mocambos deservedly  top the bill and what a quality act to start the new year!
Since their formation the Hamburg group have released dozens of singles and several top drawer albums.
They have collaborated with some of the best in the business...Afrikaans Bambaataa, Lee Fields, Kenny Dope, Charlie Funk and Gizelle Smith to name but a few.
Their unique style and trademark sound is loved by peers, fans and critics alike.
With the recent release of new album "2066" (see album section for review) the Mighty Mocambos are set to continue thrilling stages across the globe.
As much as their vinyl offerings are faultless, it's live where they shine.
Blazing horns, soulful guitars, driving drums and basslines, all delivered with pure energy, humour and joy.
The Out to Lunch  Festival is growing in stature every year and it's fitting then that Superfly can lure a band of such quality to the city to take part in the celebrations.
Tickets for the Mighty Mocambos at the Oh Yeah Centre on Saturday, January 25, are available, priced just £15.
