Pigging-backing on the previous For Those Who Are Yet To Be Born remix EP, Ishmael Ensemble has another crack of the whip with his ‘dubby’ interpretation of the track. Ishmael Ensemble, led by Pete Cunningham, are an invigorating young band based in Bristol. Their genre defying sound lends itself well to For Those Who Are Yet To Be Born, in this case Ishmael slows the tempo right down to an almost ‘chuggy’ pace. A foot tapping drum beat is complemented by Ishmael’s layered saxophone sound that bleeds gently over the track eventually disappearing somewhere into the cosmos.
Lightning Orchestra’s expansive debut album Source and Deliver received critical acclaim from across the music industry; the first single For Those Who Are Yet To Be Born spent 4 weeks on the BBC 6 Music A-List with extensive support from Lauren Laverne’s hugely popular breakfast show.
